Where to dine out on Thanksgiving Day

There are dozens of reasons why a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal might not be in the stars for you this holiday, but that’s no reason to panic.

Here’s a smattering of restaurants that are open and serving on Nov. 22, as well as some that offer at least one element of a Thanksgiving meal to-go to help you fill your table. Be sure to confirm; details subject to change:

Open on Thanksgiving

TAP at MGM Grand Detroit: Though it’s in a casino, this sports-friendly bar is available to families because there is an entrance on the hotel side of MGM Grand. Greektown Casino: It’s business as usual on Thursday inside Greektown’s new food hall the Monroe Market, which as a variety of cuisines in one cool-but-casual setting just outside the casino floor. Detroit Zen Center: Enjoy a 100 percent organic and vegan Thanksgiving buffet with shepherd’s pie, butternut squash, yams, green bean casserole, garlic mashed potatoes and more. Bavarian Inn Restaurant and Lodge: Both of these Michigan favorites will be open and hosting families of all sizes on Turkey Day. C.A.Y.A. Smokehouse Grill: This holiday catering menu has packages for a variety of party sizes from 8-10 people ($150 and up) to 18-20 people ($300 and up). Extra pies available for $9 each. Zingerman’s Cornman Farms: This year the chef-owned venue launched an online store to make ordering your Thanksgiving meal even easier.
