Where to dine out on Thanksgiving Day

There are dozens of reasons why a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal might not be in the stars for you this holiday, but that’s no reason to panic.

Here’s a smattering of restaurants that are open and serving on Nov. 22, as well as some that offer at least one element of a Thanksgiving meal to-go to help you fill your table. Be sure to confirm; details subject to change:

Open on Thanksgiving

Apparatus Room: Located inside the Detroit Foundation Hotel, chef Thomas Lents has plans for a Thanksgiving brunch with Bloody Mary Bar ($45, $25 children) from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. followed by a fixed-price Thanksgiving dinner ($78, $25 children) 4-8:30 p.m. 250 W. Larned, Detroit. (313) 800-5600.

Wolfgang Puck Steak: This MGM Grand Detroit restaurant will serve a three-course, Asian-inspired menu featuring boa with turkey confit, maple soy hoisin glaze, Peking-style turkey and scallion, pumpkin and lobster bisque. 4-10 p.m. $65 per person (plus tax and tip, beverages extra). 1777 Third, Detroit. TAP at MGM Grand Detroit: Though it’s in a casino, this sports-friendly bar is available to families because there is an entrance on the hotel side of MGM Grand. Texas de Brazil: This spacious South American steakhouse chain will serve its regular meat-centric menu, as well as Thanksgiving favorites all day starting at 11 a.m. 1000 Woodward, Detroit. (313) 964-4333 or reserve through the Open Table app.

Golden Fleece: This Greektown favorite will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and will show America’s Thanksgiving Parade and the Detroit Lions game on their TVs. 535 Monroe, Detroit. (313) 962-7093.

Greektown Casino: It’s business as usual on Thursday inside Greektown’s new food hall the Monroe Market, which as a variety of cuisines in one cool-but-casual setting just outside the casino floor. Bakersfield Detroit: Boasting tacos, tequila and whiskey, this chain restaurant will be open and pouring 10 a.m.-10 p.m. 3100 Woodward, Detroit. (313) 974-7040 or reserve through the Open Table app.

Detroit Zen Center: Enjoy a 100 percent organic and vegan Thanksgiving buffet with shepherd’s pie, butternut squash, yams, green bean casserole, garlic mashed potatoes and more. Bavarian Inn Restaurant and Lodge: Both of these Michigan favorites will be open and hosting families of all sizes on Turkey Day. Offering Thanksgiving-To-Go

Slows-To-Go: This local favorite will prepare a feast for 6-8 with smoked boneless turkey, turkey legs, macaroni and cheese and other sides for $129.99 cold (Wednesday) or $149.99 hot (Thanksgiving Day). Order smoked turkey on its own for $19.95 per pound. 4107 Cass, Detroit. (313) 309-7560.

GreenSpace Cafe: This vegan restaurant offers a variety of plant-based, to-go dinners from $29 per person. Order before Friday. 215 W. Nine Mile, Ferndale. (248) 206-7510.

C.A.Y.A. Smokehouse Grill: This holiday catering menu has packages for a variety of party sizes from 8-10 people ($150 and up) to 18-20 people ($300 and up). Extra pies available for $9 each. Zingerman’s Cornman Farms: This year the chef-owned venue launched an online store to make ordering your Thanksgiving meal even easier.
