Jack White’s new album due March 23

Detroit son Jack White and his Third Man Records have announced a release date for his third solo album “Boarding House Reach.” The new album features the recently-released single “Connected by Love” and is being put out by Third Man and Columbia Records. This is the 12-time Grammy Award winner’s first album in nearly four years.

Blige, Brown, Rae among NAACP Image Awards presenters

Mary J. Blige, Sterling K. Brown, Issa Rae and Chadwick Boseman will be among the presenters Monday night at the 49th NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California, reports the Associated Press. Blige and Jay Z are the top nominees with five apiece, while Rae is tied, along with Bruno Mars, SZA and Kendrick Lamar, for the second-most nominations with four apiece. “black-ish” star Anthony Anderson will host the two-hour show that will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. on the TV One cable network.

‘Top Chef’ casting in Metro Detroit

Local chefs: Sharpen your knives and make sure those plates are in ship-shape, because casting producers for Bravo’s “Top Chef” competition show are coming to Metro Detroit. Chefs interested in being considered for the show can send an email to to topchefcasting@magicalelves.com. Also include some food photos that best represent your style, or a link to your Instagram account. The filming location for season 16 is still under wraps, but filming will start in the spring. Season 15, set in Denver, is airing now on Bravo. The reality competition cooking show — hosted by Padma Lakshmi and featuring judge and celebrity chef Tom Colicchio — has made stars out of many of its winners. Original Disney Mouseketeer Doreen Tracey dies at 74

Doreen Tracey, a former child star who played one of the original cute-as-a-button Mouseketeers on “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1950s, has died, according to Disney publicist Howard Green. She was 74. Tracey died from pneumonia Wednesday at a hospital in Thousand Oaks, California, following a two-year battle with cancer, reports the Associated Press.
