The opponents and locations for Michigan and Michigan State basketball’s Big Ten schedule next season are set.

On Wednesday, the Big Ten announced its conference matchups for the 2024-25 campaign, the league’s first with new West Coast members Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.

Tre Holloman (5) and Michigan State will still face Nimari Burnett (4) and Michigan twice in 2024-25, even after the Big Ten introduces Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington to the league.

Despite expanding to 18 teams, the Big Ten will stick to a 20-game conference slate for the seventh straight year. That means each team will play three opponents twice and face the other 14 teams once, with seven single plays both at home and on the road.

Matchup dates, game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.

Michigan and Michigan State will continue their rivalry series with two matchups in Ann Arbor and East Lansing. The Wolverines also will have home-and-away tilts against defending regular-season champion Purdue and Rutgers, while the Spartans will have double plays against Illinois and Minnesota.

When it comes to the Big Ten’s new additions, the Wolverines and Spartans will both have long treks to California to face UCLA and USC and will both host Oregon and Washington.

Michigan also will welcome Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern and Penn State to Crisler Center and travel to Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Michigan State will have home games against Indiana, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin and trips to Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern, Ohio State and Rutgers.

Michigan State finished tied for sixth in the league standings last season with a 10-10 mark and was ousted in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals by top-seeded Purdue before reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan is coming off a miserable season where it finished last in the Big Ten for the first time since 1967 with a 3-17 mark and set a program record for losses with an 8-24 record.
