John Homer Thomas, 69, of Southgate, passed away on April 23, 2024 from cancer. John was born on September 23, 1954 in Wyandotte. John was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Laura Thomas; brother Joseph Thomas; father and mother-in-law Charles and Leona Tellier; brother and sisters-in-law Charles Tellier II, Pauline Head, and Adrianne Tellier. He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 25 years Maureen Thomas; his children Christopher Thomas (Nicole George) of Detroit, MI; Eric Thomas (Parveneh Givi) of Lake Oswego, OR; Jenny Thong (Peter) of London, ONT; Scott Thomas (Jill) of Elk Rapids, MI; and James Springer of Belle River, ONT; his eight grandchildren Elsie, Margaret, George, Farah, Warren, Aurora, Silas and Henry; his brothers and sisters-in-law Bob and Sue Tellier, Gerard Tellier, Ron Tellier, Jo-Anne and Tim Rochacewich, Charlene and Bob Moneypenny, Frank and Pat Tellier, Don and Kathy Tellier, Bernadette Gray, Phyllis Rohrbacher, Mark and Karen Tellier, John and Cha Tellier, Luke and Maggie Tellier; many cousins, loved ones and friends.
Not long after High School John began working for Wright & Filippis as an orthotic and prosthetics technician. In his trade John used his love of craftsmanship and working with his hands to bring comfort to thousands of patients over the years. John was quick to share a smile and laugh with everyone he met, he cherished his time with friends and family, and loved sharing life's simple pleasures. His legacy of love lives on in all who knew him.
Visitation Saturday, May 4th 1pm until time of service 7pm, at Molnar Funeral Home - The Thon Center, 2760 Biddle Ave. Wyandotte.
