The corporate suites at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, will be getting a major overhaul, according to city of Detroit records.

The Lions organization have been granted a city building permit for $750,000 worth of work involving “interior demolition .... of suites and club spaces located on floors 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6’’ at the downtown facility, according to the permit. The work is expected to be finished by early June, based on when the permit expires.

Earlier this month, Lions president Rod Wood sent a letter to season-ticket holders that a $100 million investment by the Ford family, the team owners, was planned for the stadium. Those upgrades will include new video boards and additional sound system upgrades.

A spokesman for the Lions couldn’t be reached Tuesday afternoon.
