Here are six ideas for getting out and about in Metro Detroit this weekend

Halloween at Blake’s Big Apple: Have fun in the dark at this fall fun attraction. This weekend Blake’s Big Apple has zombie paintball, a three-story haunted barn, a three-dimensional maze and a haunted hayride. PhantaSea at Eastern Palace Club: A multi-media, weekend long event that mimics Key West, Florida’s Fantasy Fest, Eastern Palace Club will lean in to its tropical décor and vibe with a series of themed evenings. Thursday night (Oct. 26) there will be a toga party, followed by a masquerade Friday, Happy Endings Dance Party Saturday (costumes encouraged) and a Beachcomber’s bazaar Sunday. “The Rocky Horror Show” at Motown Mansion: See this classic story reimagined as an immersive experience at the historic Motown Mansion from the creative minds of Opera MODO and Marche du Nain Rouge. The Boo Bash is in Parker's Alley in downtown Detroit this weekend with free face painting, photo opportunities and more fall fun.

Boo Bash at Parker’s Alley: For some fall fun in the city, this urban attraction has free face painting, balloon art, stilt walkers, live artwork and loads of pumpkins. Flint Short Film Freakout at Local 432: Indie film buffs and horror aficionados will gather to view short movies from around the world that are described as weird, freaky and strange. One of the films in the fest is “The Dance of the Nain Rouge,” a short horror film from artist Eric Millikin, who has been creating artificial intelligence horror animation since the 1980s, about the Detroit folklore legend. Haunted “Bootenanny” at River’s Edge Brewing Co.: Along with the craft beer and costumed revelers, this Halloween party will also have an LED hula hooper, door prizes and loads of photo opportunities. The lineup includes Coffin Jockeys, Funderbird and Hot Ugly. Costumes not required, but they are encouraged and there are prizes for the best ones.
