Acclaimed, “superstar” pianist Yuja Wang comes to town this weekend to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto Nov. 4 with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra led by music director Jader Bignamini. The ensemble will also perform Paul Dukas’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and Saint-Saëns’s “Organ” Symphony. “Superfreak: the Rick James Story” at Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts

A play about larger-than-life rock star and the king of punk funk Rick James comes to the stage of Music Hall this weekend. South Asian Queens of Comedy: A Unique Holi Celebration at Flagstar Strand Theatre

Hosted by former Michigan State Representative Padma Kuppa, this stand-up comedy show celebrates the talents and charisma of comics Alisha Dhillon, Priya Patel and Divya Gunasekaren while also celebrating the Hindu tradition of Holi and Women’s History Month. Marche du Nain Rouge in Midtown

A day of revelry and folklore in the city, Sunday’s Marche du Nain Rouge returns to the streets of Midtown to encounter the city’s fabled harbinger of doom. Folks don extravagant and colorful costumes and parade from Second and Canfield down Second to the Masonic Temple. After, organizers hope that visitors and residence alike stick around to patronize the area’s shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. The Peterboro Chinese restaurant (420 Peterboro at Cass), for example, will open at 3 p.m. with themed cocktail and food features. “It’s like the official start of spring here in Detroit,” says Peterboro owner Chuck Inchaustegui.
