Oak Parker: Barely five months old, this modern neighborhood bar is becoming a favorite of those in southern Oakland County. The menu always features a fried fish platter, usually with fresh lake fish. It's a little gourmet: a recent offering of half pound of halibut, fries and coleslaw ran $29. Scotty Simpson's Fish and Chips: A decades-old mainstay, Scotty's is a go-to place for fish and chips and other fresh, fried seafood. The cod is flown in fresh from Halifax, Nova Scotia and deboned by expert hands. The menu also features frog legs, shrimp, perch, burgers and chicken. Sidecar Slider Bar: This local restaurant group has Guinness-battered cod dishes on special throughout Lent. Get two cod filets, fries, coleslaw and a house-made malt vinegar aioli for $19.99.
