Welcome to Detroit — are you hungry?

Hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected in downtown Detroit over the next several days in conjunction with the NFL Draft, taking place April 25-27 in the Campus Martius area, the heart of the city.

Detroit bars to visit

For those looking to watch the draft or one of next week's Detroit Tigers' games on television at a downtown sports bar, here's our directory of bars near Little Caesars Arena, Comerica Park and Ford Field, including the newest spot downtown, Gilly's Clubhouse, which just opened two weeks ago. Where to eat Detroit-style pizza

Yep, it's a thing. While we just called it "square pizza" for decades, pan pizza with cheese to the crispy crust and (usually) sauce on top of the cheese is now known worldwide as "Detroit style." The original is Buddy's Pizza, but it's kind of also Cloverleaf, and then there's other old school pioneers like Loui's and Shields.
