Food trucks return at lunchtime in Downtown Detroit. Here's the first week's schedule

Warmer weather has returned, and with it comes Downtown Street Eats, a lineup of local food trucks that park during weekday lunchtime in Cadillac Square and the Woodward Esplanade in downtown Detroit.

The season starts Monday and runs through Oct. 10 with a rotating cast of mobile businesses ready to serve from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The schedule highlights longtime favorites like Los Dos Amigos Taco Truck and Buffy’s Mexicasian Grill, plus new businesses like sushi truck Kabar Catering, Tacobachis and Sweet and Sticky BBQ.

Downtown Street Eats returns to Cadillac Square and the Woodward Esplanade on Monday.

Here’s the opening week lineup:

May 6: Chick A Dee, Lemonade and Beyon, Los Dos Amigos, Smoke Ring, Maad House Tea

May 7: Lemonade and Beyond, Sonny’s Hamburgers, Cousins Main Lobster, Kabar Catering Sushi Truck, Cynt-Sational Eats, Unity Catering

May 8: Chick A Dee, the Great Greek, Buffy’s Mexicasian Grill, Stix & Stones, the Rolling Stoves, Unity Catering

May 9: Detroit’s Original Seafood Truck, Sonny’s Hamburgers, Buffy’s Mexicasian Grill, Curbside Eatery, Poke Ur Way, Smoke Ring

May 10: Detroit’s Original Seafood Truck, Los Dos Amigos, NuSol Food Buggy, the Main Ingredient

As the season goes on, the weekly food truck schedule can be found at downtowndetroit.org/events.

Attracting more than 2,500 hungry residents and workers daily, Downtown Street Eats a program created and managed by Downtown Detroit Partnership. It is curated by Jennyfer Crawford, the entrepreneur behind the Ask Jennyfer brand marketing firm.

“It’s a privilege to provide a platform for small businesses seeking growth. The program not only supports veteran food truck operators but also welcomes new food trucks, ensuring fresh and enticing options for lunchtime crowds. It’s a thrill to see the growing enthusiasm for our food truck lineup,” she said in a press release.
