Watch Eddie Murphy hit the streets again in first trailer for 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F'
Filming for Netflix sequel partially took place in Detroit in 2022.
Axel Foley is back in the first teaser trailer for Netflix's "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F," coming to the streaming service in 2024.
In the trailer, released Thursday, Eddie Murphy's Detroit cop — still sporting that vintage Detroit Lions varsity coat — is back in Beverly Hills, California, and he's followed by plenty of gunfire and explosions. The familiar notes of Harold Faltermeyer's original score give way to the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Going Back to Cali" as Foley hits the streets.
Murphy is joined in the film by Kevin Bacon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Paul Reiser, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton and more.

No release date for the film has been given, although a poster for the film unveiled this week gives a "Summer 2024" release.
"Axel F" was partially filmed in Detroit in Nov. 2022.
The long in the works entry in the "Beverly Hills Cop" series, starring Murphy as a fish out of water cop sent to California, comes 40 years after the original and 30 years after the franchise's last installment, 1994's "Beverly Hills Cop III."
