History: The Akropolis Quintet, or Akropolis Reed Quintet, formed in 2009 at the University of Michigan and since then has released five albums, including 2022's "Hymns for Private Use." A collaboration with soprano Shara Nova, the album features original works by composers Annika Socolofsky and Nico Muhly.

The latest: The ensemble will perform at University Musical Society's concert "Are We Dreaming the Same Dream?" at 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at Rackham Auditorium, 915 E. Washington in Ann Arbor. The show is described as an "electrifying concert experience that blurs the lines between classical, jazz and contemporary music."
