Even celebrities have their moments meeting celebrities.

Motown's Martha Reeves took to Instagram Monday to post a photo of her and Mariah Carey embracing following Carey's show in Detroit on Dec. 1 at Little Caesars Arena.

Reeves, lead singer of Martha and the Vandellas, praised Carey for being one of the "finest entertainers" that she has ever met.

"Got to meet and talk with Mariah Carey after her show here in Detroit," Reeves said. "Possibly one of the finest entertainers I have ever met, and I have met many! Much love and respect! Love, Martha Rose."

The "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer then returned similar expressions of admiration to the multi-award winning Detroit icon.

"You are a legend!! It was truly my honor to meet you!" Carey said of Reeves in the comments on the post.

Known for her distinct five-octave vocal range, Carey is reportedly the best-selling female artist of all time, with more than 200 million albums sold and 19 Billboard Hot 100 #1 Singles, according to a biography on her website. A multi-Grammy Award winner, she is regarded for her "prolific songwriting and producing talent."

Reeves scored charts in 1960s and '70s with Motown hits including "Come and Get These Memories," "Heat Wave" and "Dancing in the Street."

Born in Alabama, she moved to the Motor City with her family as a baby, according to a biography on her website.

She served as a Detroit councilwoman from 2005-09. In 2007, Reeves joined the fight to rename the road in front of the Motown Museum on West Grand Boulevard to Berry Gordy Jr. Boulevard, for the record label's founder, who started the recording company in 1959.
