Gmac Cash has become the unofficial soundtrack for Detroit Lions wins, and he's got another song ready go, hopefully to accompany another Lions triumph.

The Detroit rapper already has several songs dedicated to Lions victories, including "Lions Won," "Lions Won Again" and "We the Lions." And he says he'll drop another song on Sunday celebrating the team's season, whether they win or lose their divisional playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Detroit rapper Gerald Allen, known professionally as Gmac Cash, in the sound booth at Isolation Records, in Detroit, Michigan on November 29, 2022.

"Hopefully everything goes as planned on Sunday," says the rapper, meaning one more victory for the Lions, which would send the team to the NFC conference championship on Jan. 28.

Gmac Cash, born Gerald Allen and raised on Detroit's east side, recorded "Lions Won" in December 2021, after the team posted its first W of the season, after going 0-10-1 for their first 11 games. "We going to the Super Bowl off of one win," he rapped in the quickie song, produced by PRIMObeats and clocking in at under two minutes, which was released in the immediate aftermath of the game.

"Lions Won Again" came two weeks later, after the team routed the Arizona Cardinals at home, 30-12. "The Lions won again," Gmac raps in the song's chorus. "All we do is f---in' win!"

While it was celebrating the outcome of a specific game, "Lions Won Again" is generic enough that it can be the soundtrack for any Lions win, which it does on social media every time the Lions emerge victorious and users post the song underneath videos of the themselves celebrating the outcome. And since there's been a lot of Lions victories to celebrate since then — 23 in all, including the team's first postseason win in more than 30 years — there have been a lot of reasons to stream and post the song. (Gmac also released a radio edit of "Lions Won Again," which removes the song's curse words.)

Pt. 3 in his series came after the first game of the Lions' 2023 campaign, after they beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener, and he recorded "We the Lions." Same idea, more Lions pride, and more Super Bowl talk. Gmac says between the three, his songs are posted in an average of 2,000 TikTok and Instagram videos every time the Lions win, from users around the globe.

(He made a fourth song last month titled "Who We Smoke (Lions Edition)," which flips Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles," and is only on YouTube.)

While he's pretty much cornered the market on Lions songs — his main competition is "Gridiron Heroes," the Lions' official fight song, which dates back to the 1930s — what he really wants is to perform at Ford Field for a hometown crowd. "I don't know why they don't want to do that, it's like right there," he says, saying he's been trying to line something up with the Lions organization to be a part of a game, so far to no avail.

For the lifelong Lions fan, the team's 2023 run has been a blessing. He has attended several games this season, and he scored a picture with Barry Sanders on the sidelines at the home opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

"It's good to see the whole city coming together," he says. "It's bringing more money to the city, it's bringing more people together. Everybody loves the Lions."

Apart from the Lions material, Gmac Cash released his latest album, "Made in Detroit 2," last month.

It's a straightforward bunch of songs, occupying a separate lane from his parody raps and comedy songs, which have frequently gained attention and landed him on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2022.

In 2023, Gmac scored an online hit with "Montgomery Brawl," a song he made in the aftermath of the viral video that showed an altercation at a riverfront dock in Montgomery, Alabama. He's also made waves with his songs about Belle Isle's giant slide and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The 30-year-old also gets a chance to flex his acting muscles on the Detroit-set Tubi series, "The Dirty D."

As for Sunday's Lions game, Gmac is predicting a 32-30 win for the home team. And if the Lions make it all the way to the Super Bowl? "There's definitely gonna be a song," he says.
