André 3000 headed to Detroit for three shows on 'New Blue Sun' tour
The flautist will perform at Cliff Bell's and at the Chapel at the Masonic Temple.
One of the greatest rappers of all-time is headed to Detroit, and he's bringing his flute with him.
André 3000, erstwhile OutKast leader and current flute enthusiast, is headed to Detroit for three shows, his reps announced Tuesday.
He'll play downtown jazz club Cliff Bell's on Feb. 8 and two shows at the Chapel at Masonic Temple, at 7 and 10 p.m., on Feb. 9.
He'll be joined by his bandmates Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, and Deantoni Parks on the dates, part of the tour behind his November album, "New Blue Sun."
Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday via André 3000's website.
It's been awhile since the rapper played the area; Outkast's last performance in Metro Detroit was in July 2002 at DTE Energy Music Theatre.
