DJ and actor Idris Elba will perform at this year's Movement Festival, May 25-27 at Hart Plaza, organizers announced on Wednesday.

He's part of an initial lineup of 20 artists rolled out for this year's fest, along with Fatboy Slim, who is returning to the festival for the first time since 2011, James Blake, Boys Noize, Goldie, Gorgon City, LP Giobbi and Skream.

An absolutely jam-packed crowd watches Skrillex perform on the main stage as night descends on the third and final day of the Movement 2023, Detroit’s electronic music festival, in Hart Plaza on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Tickets for the festival are now on sale through Movement's website. Three-day general admission passes are $334, and one-day GA passes are $175. Single day VIP passes are $226; three-day VIP passes are currently sold out.

Elba is performing as part of a collaborative set with Detroit techno mainstay Kevin Saunderson. Elba and Saunderson's Inner City partnered in 2020 for the song "We All Move Together," which was done to support the Detroit Will Breathe collective.

Other early artists joining the Movement lineup are Solomun, I Hate Models, Indira Paganotto, Jaguar, VTSS (performing with Boys Noize), 999999999, Honey Dijon, Floating Points, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Joseph Capriati, DJ Minx and Mount Kimbie.

Movement has been a Memorial Day weekend staple in Hart Plaza since 2006, although the 2020 and 2021 festivals were sidelined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
