Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre box office opening for season on Friday

Tickets for a slew of summer concerts set to go on sale.

Tickets for nine summer concerts at Detroit's Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre go on sale Friday when the riverfront venue's box office opens for the season.

Among those shows going on sale are concerts by Boosie Badazz (with Trina, Webbie, Juvenile and Trick Daddy, June 15); the Isley Brothers and A'ngela Winbush (June 16); Robert Glasper featuring Yebba (June 21); Rose Royce and Lakeside (June 26); Regina Belle, Jonathan Butler and Jarrod Lawson (July 3); Peabo Bryson and Oleta Adams (July 17); Cassandra Wilson and Ralphie Armstrong (July 24); PJ Morton (July 31); and Keyon Harrold and Cory Henry (Aug. 28).

Tickets will also be available for the remainder of the Aretha's already announced shows, including Kem (Aug. 2), Shelia E. (Aug. 14), King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (Aug. 23).

More shows at the amphitheater will be announced over the course of the season, according to an Aretha spokesperson.

Friday's box office opening will include food, music, giveaways and gifts for the first 100 guests in line.

The Aretha box office, located at 2600 Atwater St., opens at 10 a.m. Friday and will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays.
