The Roots, the celebrated, long-running Philadelphia hip-hop outfit, will bring its live show to Sterling Heights' Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre on Aug. 25, venue officials announced Tuesday.

Roots singer Black Thought performs during the “Roots Holiday Tour “ at the Fillmore.

Tickets for the show, which will also include '90s rap acts Digable Planets and Arrested Development, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster channels.

The show is part of the Roots' "Hip Hop Is The Love Of My Life 2024 Tour."

The Roots, who can be seen nightly as the house band on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," backed up LL Cool J at his F.O.R.C.E. Tour at Little Caesars Arena in August 2023. The group's last area headlining concert was in September 2021 at the Russell Industrial Center.
