Name: Warhorses

History: Like many rock bands, Warhorses started in a suburban basement. The heavy quartet is a regular in the local music scene and bring their hypnotic show to stages big and small across town. The band has a few releases under its belt, including 2022's collection of cover songs "Replikant."

Next: Warhorses can regularly be seen performing live around Detroit and Hamtramck, but this spring they've got two Ypsilanti club dates scheduled. Saturday they'll play Human Fly Radio's 420 Weekend show at Ziggy's, 206 W. Michigan in Ypsilanti, with Angel of Mars, Royal Sweets and Along with Ghosts. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the all ages show with music starting at 8 p.m; cover charge is $10. Next month on May 21 catch Warhorses at Ypsi's Regal Beagle Lounge, 817 E. Michigan, with Cardinals Folly, a death metal band from Finland.
