The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores recently announced “Home for the Holidays at Ford House, presented by Landscape Services, Inc.” This new event combines popular highlights from previous years for a new holiday experience.

The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores recently announced “Home for the Holidays at Ford House," presented by Landscape Services. This new event combines popular highlights from previous years for a new holiday experience. Thousands of sparkling lights will be featured along with a self-guided tour of the historic home’s first floor, where visitors can hear captivating stories about the estate’s rich history and see holiday decor inspired by Eleanor Ford’s tastes and wishes. Each ticket includes a complimentary hot chocolate. Starting Nov. 24, the event continues Friday through Sunday until Dec. 30. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children. Ann Arbor Orchid Festival is Nov. 18-19

Previously held in March, the Ann Arbor Orchid Society’s annual Orchid Festival has moved to mid-November. Admission is free, but attendees will have to pay a parking fee ($2.20 per hour/$6 max daily charge). This family-friendly event that takes place from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 18-19 at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor will feature orchid raffles, displays and classes and there will also be orchids available to purchase. Classes covering the basics of growing orchids will be held at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on both days in Room 149 at Matthaei. The location is 1800 N. Dixboro Road. Go to annarbororchidsociety.org.
