Rugs & Mugs' at Michigan Design Center on Dec. 6
The Ghiordes Knot and Detroit’s iconic Pewabic Tile are teaming up Dec. 6 from noon to 3 p.m. to offer a one-of-a-kind shopping experience just in time for the upcoming holidays. The pop-up shop in the Michigan Design Center in Suite 90 will feature a collection of 2-by-3-foot hand-knotted Tibetan rugs and hand-crafted Pewabic pieces that include mugs, snowflake ornaments, Detroit/Michigan ornaments, necklaces, pins and petite vases. Rust and Retro Vintage Market coming Dec. 9
More than 40 local small businesses gather in Davisburg on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the popular Rust and Retro Vintage Market. Vintage, antiques and handmade vendors offer a unique mix of merchandise and something outside the expected holiday shopping experience. “My mom quite literally went into labor with me at a flea market, so you could say it's in my blood,” says owner Rena Starr. The scene depicts the spirit of Christmas flying over a snowy landscape with a freshly cut tree and is available in a variety of frames. From Dec. 1 through Jan. 2, the Northville Historical Society will offer its annual Festival of Trees. Thirty decorated trees will be set up around the historic Mill Race Village as part of this weekend’s Christmas in the Village event (Dec. 1 and 2) and will remain on view until after the holidays. The ticketed Christmas in the Village event also features carolers and the Busker organ, decorated buildings and trees, free family photos, kids’ crafts, hot cocoa and more.
