The northbound Lodge Freeway at Seven Mile in Detroit has reopened following a crash involving a semi-truck, officials said.

Michigan Department of Transportation officials said at about 9:15 a.m. that the freeway had reopened. State police said they received at about 3:30 a.m. reports about the crash on the Lodge near Eight Mile.

Troopers responded and found an abandoned black Saab 93 blocking the right and center lane and a semi on the right shoulder.

According to a preliminary investigation, the Saab struck the semi and the car's driver ran from the scene.

Police said the crash damaged the truck's fuel tank, which leaked all of its diesel fuel about — 200 gallons — over all of the freeway's lanes.

Detroit firefighters were called for clean-up and the removal of the involved vehicles from the scene.

The freeway was closed at Seven Mile to enable crews to clean up the spill and remove the vehicles.

Investigators said no injuries were reported and they are still looking for the Saab's driver.
