Murder and armed robbery charges against a Detroit man have been dismissed after two witnesses prosecutors needed for trial did not show up to testify, prosecutors said.

Kenneth Daniel, 32, was one of two people charged in 2022 in the slaying of Albert Williams, 52. He was charged with felony murder and armed robbery and both charges were dismissed Monday, the day his trial was set to begin.

Assistant Prosecutor Maria Miller said two witnesses needed to prosecute Daniel did not appear for the trial.

Daniel's codefendant, Delron Black, was found guilty by a jury in September and was sentenced in October to life in prison for felony murder.

Black shot Williams Feb. 24, 2022, during an argument, and both he and Daniel allegedly robbed Williams before they fled.

Williams' body was found in the doorway of a residence in the 12040 block of Greenfield Road in Detroit with multiple gunshot wounds.
