Warren police are investigating a Tuesday morning crash that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

A driver in a Saturn Vue was entering a center turn lane to head north on Hoover Road from 10 Mile when they struck a woman around 7 a.m., police said in a statement.

The driver got out of their car and began rendering aid, according to the release.

Warren Fire Department officials transported the woman to St. John Hospital in critical condition.

The 39-year-old had been wearing dark clothes and standing in the road before the crash, police reported.

She had been trying to cross the road against the signal and other drivers had already moved around her to prevent hitting her, according to the release.

Investigators do not believe the driver was distracted when they hit her, though police are still investigating whether drugs and alcohol factored into the crash, according to the release.
