Authorities have found the body of a 21-year-old Chesterfield Township man who disappeared Thursday while jet skiing, police said.

Jonathan Kloss was spotted around noon Friday in Anchor Bay by the Macomb County Sheriff's Marine Division near the area where his jet ski capsized, township police said in a release.

His death is being investigated as an accident, according to the statement.

"The Kloss family is grieving the loss of Jonathan," officials wrote. "The Chesterfield Twp. Police Detective Bureau along with the Macomb Sheriff Marine Division will continue to work on this unfortunate loss of life."

The search ended on Friday.

Kloss was last seen at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday, according to authorities.

Investigators said he and a friend, Hunter Lentine, 19, of New Baltimore, took jet skis out on Lake St. Clair's Anchor Bay from Brandenburg Park before Kloss disappeared. Brandenburg Park is on Jefferson Avenue near Altman Road.

Police said the two jet skis were found capsized and floating in Anchor Bay near the park.

Lentine was rescued from the water and taken to a hospital.

On Friday, police said Lentine remains in the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Authorities resumed the search for Kloss at 7:30 a.m.

"The Chesterfield Twp. Police Dept. would like to thank all the agencies and citizens that helped with this incident," officials said.
