A man and a woman suspected of stealing more than $25,000 in jewelry from a Warren store Thursday have been arrested, police said.

Officers were called at about noon to the store in the area of 13 Mile and Hoover roads for a report of a theft. A store employee called 911 to report a man and woman who acted as potential customers had taken jewelry.

Store staff provided police with descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. The information was distributed to Warren officers and police departments in neighboring cities.

Officials said about 25 minutes after the theft, Hazel Park police officers spotted the suspects' vehicle traveling south on Interstate 75. They pulled the vehicle over and spoke to the man and woman inside it.

Investigators said the pair matched the descriptions of the suspects involved in the jewelry theft. They arrested them and searched the vehicle. Officers found the stolen jewelry and a large amount of cash inside the vehicle.

Warren police officers were called, collected the suspects and took them to their department's holding cells to await charges, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are working to determine if the suspects are connected with other crimes.
