At least three people were wounded in a Monday night shooting in Eastpointe, police said.

Officials said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing but did not disclose how many people were injured in the incident. Media reports Tuesday said there were two men and two women struck by rounds.

Officers were called at about 9 p.m. Monday to the 23000 block of Kelly Road north of Nine Mile for a report of a shooting.

Police arrived and found multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began to render aid, according to authorities.

The victims were later taken to a hospital, where they continue to be treated for their injuries, officials said Tuesday morning.

After they began an investigation, police determined the incident began in the 19000 block of Dijon Avenue, less than a mile east from where officers found the victims.

Investigators moved to Dijon Avenue and found numerous shell casings in the roadway. Victims told police they were parked in a vehicle at a home on the street when another vehicle pulled up alongside them and opened fire, authorities said.

Police also found several bullet holes in the front of the home where the vehicle was parked.

Officers spoke to the home's occupants and it is not known at this time if they were involved in the incident, investigators said.

The victims of the shooting did not provide information about who the suspects may be or the motive behind the shooting, police said.
