Warren police are investigating a shootingSaturday that left a man in critical condition with several gunshot wounds.

Officers arrested a suspect "based off initial evidence and statements from witnesses on scene," according to a Warren police press release.

Emergency dispatchers sent police and fire units to a residence on the 13000 block of Couwlier Avenue around 8:45 a.m. Saturday, where fire department officials took the injured man to a local hospital, police said.

A female witness told police the shooting may have begun when the suspect and victim got into a fight at a Detroit club on Friday night, police said.

Investigators said there was no active threat to the public and are reviewing video footage from nearby residences.

Police ask that anyone with information contact Detective Taylor at 586-574-4741, as they plan to present the case to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office for further review on Monday, the release stated.
