An 18-year-old man died Tuesday after he was in a three-vehicle crash in Clinton Township, police said.

The crash happened at about 7:15 a.m. on Grosebeck Highway near Macomb Industrial Drive, which is near North Avenue, officials reported.

Detectives said officers arrived and found three vehicles involved in the crash and two of their drivers were taken to a hospital. The 18-year-old died at the hospital from his injuries.

Officials said a 38-year-old female motorist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and a 49-year-old male driver was treated at the scene of the crash then released.

Investigators said it appeared a silver 2023 Chevrolet Blazer the woman drove was merging into the center lane of Groesbeck to turn south onto North Avenue. A white 2013 Chevrolet Impala the 18-year-old drove was traveling north on Groesbeck and approaching North when it crossed into the center lane and struck the Blazer, police said.

The Impala continued traveling into traffic on southbound Groesbeck and crashed into a gray 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. The 49-year-old man was behind the wheel at the time.

Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been contributing factors in the crash.

Any witnesses are asked to call the police department at (586) 493-7802.
