Charges have been authorized against three teens who allegedly injured an officer Monday after police broke up a fight at a Warren high school.

Officials with the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said the youngest of the three, a 17-year-old Eastpointe girl, was arraigned Tuesday in the county's Juvenile Court.

Authorities are not releasing her name because she is a minor but they said she faces several charges, including assaulting a police officer and causing injury, a four-year felony; two counts of assaulting a police officer, each a two-year felony; a count of malicious destruction of property valued at $200 or more but less than $1,000, a one-year misdemeanor; and a count of disturbing the peace, a 90-day misdemeanor.

A juvenile court referee ordered the youth to be held at the county's Juvenile Justice Center without bond, the prosecutor's office said.

The other teens, Danasia Kennedy-Johnson, 18, of Eastpointe, and Xavier Tayvione-Demarr Jones, 18, of Warren, are expected to be arraigned on charges Wednesday in 37th District Court in Warren, officials said.

Macomb's prosecutor has charged Kennedy-Johnson with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assaulting a police officer and causing injury, malicious destruction of property valued at $200 or more but less than $1,000, and disorderly conduct.

If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison for the assault with intent to do great bodily harm charge, four years for assaulting a police officer and causing injury, a year for malicious destruction of property and 90 days for disorderly conduct.

Prosecutors have charged Jones with three counts of assaulting a police officer and disorderly conduct.

If convicted, he faces up to two years for each count of assaulting an officer and 90 days for disorderly conduct.

Officials said the three were arrested Monday at Lincoln High School. The high school is located near Nine Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue in Warren.

Police were called at about 2:49 p.m. Monday to the school to respond to a large fight that was happening as classes were being dismissed, they said.

Kennedy-Johnson and Jones were allegedly at the school to fight a student on a bus, according to the prosecutor's office.

After police broke up the fight, two officers tried to arrest Jones, the prosecutor's office said. He resisted and caused them to fall to the ground, officials reported.

As the officers attempted to subdue Jones, the 17-year-old girl and Kennedy-Jones allegedly assaulted one of the officers, officials said. Police said on Monday the teen girl struck the officer in the head from behind, causing her to fall to the ground.

Police came to the officer's aid and medics took her to a hospital. On Monday, she was listed in serious but stable condition at a hospital with a possible concussion, authorities said.

"Our police officers risk their lives every day to keep our community safe and violence against them is unacceptable in a civil society," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement. "Such actions will be met with the full force of the law."
