Sterling Heights police are looking for a man who shot and wounded another man in a road rage incident last month.

Officials said the suspect was driving a white SUV. Investigators provided no further details about the suspect.

According to a preliminary investigation, the incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. on April 28 on eastbound Metropolitan Parkway west of Van Dyke.

Police said a blue Hyundai stopped at a light on the eastbound side. As it waited there, an argument began between the Hyundai's occupants and the driver of a white SUV.

Sterling Heights police said a suspect who shot a man in the leg in an April 28, 2024, road rage incident on Metropolitan Parkway was driving this white SUV.

During the argument, the SUV's driver pulled out a handgun and fired a shot at the Hyundai, authorities said. The round struck the leg of a male passenger in the Hyundai.

The SUV's driver turned and headed west on Metro Parkway before getting on northbound Van Dyke. Police said he was last seen traveling north on Van Dyke, but it's unknown where he went.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai's driver took the wounded passenger to a hospital. Detectives said he was treated and released.
