The Pittsfield Township Police Department in Washtenaw County is on the lookout for two men suspected of fatally shooting a 19-year-old man in what they believe is a drug deal-turned-violent Saturday night.

The homicide took place about 9:30 p.m. in a parking lot of the Glencoe Hills apartments off Washtenaw and Hogback, said Matt Harshberger, director of public safety for the township.

Harshberger said the victim and two suspects, identified only as men ages 19 and 25 years old, were set to meet for a drug deal. He would not specify what drug was to be sold. During their parking lot meeting, the suspects shot the victim multiple times.

The victim's name is Christopher Marsh Jr. He was an Ypsilanti Township resident.

Police say the suspects may have fled on foot or may have been picked up in a vehicle some time after the shooting. A K-9 was brought to the scene to track the suspects, but the trail ran cold.

Harshberger said police are "making progress" and hope to have the suspects identified and arrested this week. This was the first homicide of the year in the township of 38,000 citizens.
