Authorities have arrested a suspect in a slaying in Jackson after a chase from the crime scene.

Jackson police found Sebastian Igafo-Teo, 30, dead inside a residence on the 300 block of Randolph Street around midnight Wednesday. Igafo-Teo had multiple stab wounds on his upper torso and neck, officials said in a statement.

Investigators learned four people were inside the home when the altercation unfolded, but the suspect had fled in Igafo-Teo's missing Chevrolet Silverado before officers arrived at the crime scene.

The Blackman-Leoni Township Department of Public Safety found the car roughly two hours later and began a pursuit with help from Michigan State Police and the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff, according to the release.

The chase ended when the Silverado crashed and rolled into power lines on the 1300 block of East Ganson at 2:29 a.m., said Elmer Hitt, director of the Jackson Police Department.

Officers learned the driver was the 31-year-old male stabbing suspect, accompanied by a 27-year-old female passenger, according to the release.

The suspect and passenger were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Police later took both people to the Jackson County Jail pending formal charges.

Both individuals are expected to be arraigned on Thursday, according to the release.
