A 32-year-old mother and her infant daughter who disappeared this month from Auburn Hills have both been found, police said.

Amanda Rose Prowell-Smith and 1 ½-month-old Eliza were recovered Saturday in Warren, officials said.

Both vanished on Feb. 2 after the woman allegedly assaulted a relative at an Auburn Hills home in the 2300 block of South Boulevard, officials said.

Investigators received a tip Saturday that Prowell-Smith and Eliza were at a laundromat in Warren. Detectives requested Warren police officers go to the business and investigate.

Officers located the woman and her child there. Auburn Hills police and officials with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services also arrived.

Auburn Hills police officers arrested Prowell-Smith for outstanding warrants and took her to a hospital to be evaluated. Her daughter was placed into the custody of Child Protective Services, officials said.

Prowell-Smith was described as having a long history of mental illness and not stable enough to care for a child, authorities said.

CPS removed Prowell-Smith's two other children from their home due to her mental state.
