Michiganders could win the sixth largest Mega Millions prize ever awarded as Friday's jackpot grows to an estimated $687 million.

No ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Tuesday, leaving lottery lovers the chance to win and choose between a one-time lump-sum $332.3 million cash prize or the jackpot, according to a Mega Millions press release.

Two winning tickets recently matched the lottery's five white balls to win a second-tier prize, including one ticket sold in Michigan, officials said.

Mega Millions drawings are held at 11 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Metro Detroit residents have struck gold in other recent lottery drawings, including a Wayne County man who won $100,000 in Michigan Lottery's 500x Money Maker second chance entry game, according to a statement from the Michigan Lottery.

The 57-year-old man, who chose to remains anonymous, won the prize from a Feb. 15 random drawing for second entries, according to the release.

The man said he declined an initial email and phone call informing him of the news, assuming it was a scam before realizing he had won.

“The next day, I got another call from the Lottery, and that’s when I realized I had really won," he said in the release. "It was an unbelievable feeling and still feels unreal!”

The man plans to pay for his children's college tuition and save the rest of his winnings, according to the release.

Elsewhere in Metro Detroit, someone has yet to come forward for a winning $1 million Powerball ticket, according to the Michigan Lottery website.
