Officials seek tips to ID woman found dead in Monroe County

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a woman found Wednesday in a wooded area.

Dispatched first responders found the middle-aged woman along the quarry near 15455 South Dixie Highway, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

She has not been identified.

Detectives did not find obvious signs of trauma and are following leads to identify the woman, according to the release.

Sheriff's officials do not believe the woman was a missing person.
