Brief warmth then storms, cooler temps this week in Metro Detroit

Metro Detroit's forecast this week shifts from mild conditions to storms then a cool-down.

Monday brings partly sunny skies with a high of 58 degrees, according to meteorologists with the National Weather Service's office in White Lake Township.

Tuesday brings rain in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon ahead of a cold front, the agency said. There's a marginal risk for severe storms, especially in areas west of Interstate 75 and US-23.

It's also supposed to be windy on Tuesday with gusts as high as 60 mph.

On Wednesday, temperatures are supposed to feel more like March and reach 48 degrees, the weather service said. The average monthly temperature in Metro Detroit for March is 45.9 degrees.

Tuesday: Showers; high 55, low 42.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy; high 48, low 32.

Thursday: Sunny, high 50, low 32.

Friday: Sunny; high 35, low 37.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy; high 56, low 38.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, high 38.
