An Ypsilanti Township resident accused of shooting another woman in the arm last week and injuring her has been charged, officials said.

Kenyasia Daijanique Johnson-Jackson, 28, was arraigned Sunday on charges of assault with intent to commit murder and discharging a weapon from a motor vehicle-causing injury, Pittsfield Township police said Tuesday.

A judge set her bond at $200,000 and she remains in police custody.

Authorities said Pittsfield Township police officers were called at about 11 a.m. Friday to a parking lot in the 3800 block of Carpenter Road near Sparrow Wood Drive for a report of shooting.

They arrived and found a 46-year-old Ann Arbor woman bleeding from an injury on her arm, officials said. Police rendered aid until medics arrived and took her to a hospital.

Michigan State Police troopers, Washtenaw County Sheriff's deputies as well as police from Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Milan also responded to the report, officials said. They helped Pittsfield Township officers search for the suspect.

Police found the suspect, identified as Johnson-Jackson, nearby and arrested her without incident.

According to a preliminary investigation, the shooting appears to have been sparked by a dispute that happened near Golfside Road and Washtenaw Avenue, about 1.5 miles away in Ypsilanti Township.

Investigators said it does not appear the suspect and the victim knew each other before the incident.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Pittsfield Township Police Department's tip line at (734) 822-4958.
