A woman and a girl were hospitalized after they were stabbed early Monday during a domestic incident, Ann Arbor police said.

The suspect's wife, 42, was in critical condition, and a 15-year-old girl was listed in stable condition, police reported on social media. Both were taken to University Hospital.

Officers arrived at a home around 7:30 a.m. for a reported stabbing in the 2900 block of Braeburn Circle near Interstate 94 and Platt Road.

"Preliminary investigation revealed a 49-year-old male stabbed his 42-year-old wife, as well as a 15-year-old female inside the residence," according to a statement.

Another child was inside the home at the time of the incident and did not suffer injuries, police said.

The suspect was arrested near the scene after fleeing the area on foot, police said.
