A west Michigan man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for sending sexually explicit videos of himself to a minor in 2022, federal officials said.

Frank Davis, 31, of Lowell, will spend 15 years after serving his prison sentence under supervised release, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

He was given the sentence Tuesday by a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Eric Olshan, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, said in a statement.

Under federal law, he could have faces at least 15 years and up to 60 years in prison, officials said.

Davis pleaded guilty in December n the federal court to three counts related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to authorities.

His attorney could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.

Several law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lowell Police Department, investigated the allegations against Davis, Olshan said.

The investigation began as part of a national effort launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, according to officials.

Federal prosecutors said Davis sent sexually explicit videos of himself to a minor in Pennsylvania during online chats in August 2022.

They also said he convinced the underage child to create and send him sexually explicit images and videos in the same online conversations.
