After reaching a 2024-high, gas prices in Michigan have dropped 10 cents from a week ago, at $3.59, the AAA- Auto Club Group announced Monday.

The price is2 cents less than this time last month and 6 cents less than a year ago, officials said in a release. Motorists are paying an average of $53 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline.

"Oil prices dipped as the EIA reported crude oil inventories increased by 2.7 million barrels from the previous week," AAA said in the release. "At 460 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are just 1% below the five-year average for this time of year."

Adrienne Woodland, AAA's spokesperson, added: "Michigan motorists are finally seeing lower prices at the pump. However, a rise in oil prices alongside tight supply could push gas prices higher."
