Dundee police are searching for suspects who stole four new vehicles, cash and dozens of registration plates from a car dealership over the weekend.

Investigators said the theft happened early Saturday morning at the Williams Brothers Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership on Ann Arbor Road near Tecumseh Street.

Dundee police are looking for five suspects who were dressed in black when they broke into a car dealership early Saturday and stole four vehicles, cash and registration plates.

Officials said dealership staff arrived at the business Sunday, discovered the break-in and called the police.

Officers reviewed security camera video that showed five masked suspects entering the dealership at about 6 a.m. Saturday. They determined the suspects got inside the business by breaking a garage door window in the back of the building.

On Monday, authorities released video footage of the break-in.

Police said the suspects systematically broke into various safes containing keys, cash and vehicle plates.

The suspects then used the keys to steal four vehicles: a 2024 Dodge Durango, a 2023 Dodge Ram pickup truck, a 2023 Dodge Charger and a 2024 Jeep Compass.

Detectives said they believe the thieves are members of "an extremely organized vehicle theft ring which has been targeting car dealerships throughout the Great Lakes region."

Investigators said they collected DNA and fingerprints from the scene. They are working with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State Police and Stellantis corporate security on the investigation.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery should call Dundee Police Det. Ron Pongracz at (734) 823-5390 or email him at rpongracz@villageofdundee.net.
