UM police probe weekend sex assault at parking garage

University of Michigan police have arrested a suspect in a weekend sexual assault, officials said Tuesday.

They did not release further details and said the investigation is ongoing.

University police said Sunday the assault happened between 6:20 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Glen Street Parking Structure at 333 Glen Avenue near Catherine Street in Ann Arbor.

According to a preliminary investigation, the victim and the suspect had exchanged messages through a dating app. The victim told police the sexual assault happened when they were in a car.

On Sunday, police said the suspect was a male with a dark complexion, about 22 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build, short dark hair and a close-cut beard and mustache. He was wearing black pants and a gray shirt.

Police also said the suspect was in a blue four-door SUV.
