Troy police probe shooting outside steakhouse

A woman was wounded Monday after a shooting outside a popular Troy steakhouse, police said.

She is in stable condition at a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported.

A second woman and a 4-year-old child who were with the wounded victim were not injured, officials said.

Officers were called at about 6:30 p.m. Monday to the Ruth’s Chris Steak House at 755 West Big Beaver Road for a report of a shooting in the restaurant's valet parking area, authorities said.

They arrived and found a woman who had been struck multiple times by bullets in the leg and hip area. Investigators said she was sitting in a vehicle's driver's seat when she was shot.

A fragment of a round also struck the building's front door and shattered the outside pane.

Troy police said they are looking for this white Dodge Durango, which may have been involved in a shooting Monday evening that left one woman injured in front of a popular steakhouse on West Big Beaver Road.

Investigators said the victim and witnesses gave them limited information but they determined a white Dodge Durango may have been involved in the shooting. Troy police immediately issued a bulletin to other law enforcement agencies to find the vehicle.

Officials said Hazel Park police officers located a matching suspect vehicle on southbound Interstate 75 and pursued it until they lost it in the Linwood and Warren Avenue area of Detroit.

On Tuesday, officials released photos of the vehicle.

Troy police detectives said they believe the victim and her accompanying witness were targeted.

Another angle of the Dodge Durango Troy police say may have been involved in the shooting Monday.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect should call the Troy Police Department Tip Line at (248) 524-0777.
