Investigators are seeking tips to find a suspect in a shooting early Wednesday in Pontiac that left one man dead and two others injured, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

Sheriff's deputies were called at about 12:30 a.m. to the North Hill Farms apartment complex on Cherry Hill Drive near West Kennett Road for a report of shots fired.

They arrived and found three men, all in the 20s, with gunshots. One man had a single gunshot wound on his head and was unresponsive, police said. Medics arrived and pronounced him dead.

The other two men had non-life-threatening injuries on their lower extremities, officials said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the three men were at a party in the complex's parking lot when an argument broke out and resulted in the shooting.

"We are looking for assistance in locating the individuals that committed this cowardly and despicable violent act by shooting into a crowd," Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said in a statement. "The only way we can stop senseless violence is when people speak up."

Bouchard said a reward of up to $2,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the culprit.

Tips can be anonymous and should be left with Crime Stoppers pf Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
