Eastbound Interstate 96 has reopened at Beck Road in Novi following a crash involving a semi-truck, state officials said.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said at 6:40 a.m. that all of the freeway's eastbound lanes had reopened.

The department first reported the crash at about 1:30 a.m.

According to media reports, a semi-truck overturned and was stuck in a ditch along the freeway.

Michigan State Police officials said a preliminary investigation revealed the truck's driver lost control of the semi and went into the ditch. They said no other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

MDOT officials later said the freeway near Beck Rd will close from 6:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday to enable crews to remove the semi and debris. They said it could take eight hours to clear.
