A Farmington Hills teen was charged this week in connection with a Pontiac shooting that left one person paralyzed, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office announced.

Karvyon Zorell Murphy, 19, allegedly shot a 20-year-old man in the neck after 10 p.m. on April 7 in a Fireside Lane apartment, sheriff's officials said in a press release.

Officials allege Murphy also shot a 19-year-old woman in the apartment found with a gun wound to her arm.

Deputies on the scene also found shell casings outside a nearby apartment and a 43-year-old man unharmed inside, according to the statement.

Investigators believe an altercation in the apartment days earlier prompted the shooting.

Karvyon Zorell Murphy, 19, allegedly shot two people in a Pontiac apartment on April 7.

The injured 20-year-old man told deputies someone had shot into the residence, according to the release.

The Sheriff's Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Murphy on Tuesday on Seven Mile in Detroit after investigators linked him to the shooting, officials said.

“The senseless and cowardly act of violence that permanently altered the lives of others should have a severe punishment to hold anyone involved accountable,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in the release. "I am proud of our team’s work to both identify the perpetrator, as well as locate and arrest him. Violence of this nature will not be tolerated.”

Murphy was arraigned Wednesday through 50th District Court on multiple felony charges, including three counts of assault with intent to murder and five counts of using a firearm while committing a felony, according to the release.

Judge Jeremy Bowie set Murphy's bond at $75,000.

Murphy is being held in the Oakland County Jail.

He does yet not have a lawyer representing him, according to court records.

His next court appearance will be for a probable cause hearing May 7.
