The body of a missing Grosse Ile woman was found Monday in the Detroit River near her home.

The woman, Christine Chiles, 51, was last seen early Friday morning walking out of her home, Grosse Ile police said Monday.

Chiles, who had three children, may have been suffering from depression but police don't know if that was a factor in her death.

The cause of death hasn't been determined, said Grosse Ile police. An autopsy will be done Tuesday by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.

After Chiles was last seen leaving her home Friday at 4 a.m. in a sweater and sweatpants, she was reported missing to police.

More than 100 volunteers scoured Grosse Ile Friday and Saturday but didn't find any signs of the woman.

Joining the search were Woodhaven police, the U.S. Coast Guard, Michigan Search & Recovery and the Marine division of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.

The case remains under investigation, police said.
