A Canton Township woman has snagged a $3 million Mega Millions win through the Michigan Lottery, state officials announced Wednesday.

Reagan Blanton, 52, had been on vacation in early October when she decided to buy a ticket online as soon as she got home, the state lottery said in a press release.

Blanton remembered to check her ticket a few days after the Oct. 6 drawing, and logged on to find she had won the $1 million prize, which increased to $3 million with the Megaplier feature.

"When I saw a $3 million prize pending, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!" Blanton said in the release. "When the Lottery employee confirmed I really did win, I was in shock!”

The employee verified Blanton matched the drawing numbers. She has since recently claimed her prize at the lottery's Lansing office to invest her winnings, the release stated.

Blanton's claim comes after a Grand Blanc convenience store sold an $842 million Powerball ticket.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday night at $2 to play.

Players can pay $1 extra to add a Megaplier feature to multiply winnings by up to five times.
