Three people were injured in a rollover crash early Friday on Interstate 94 near Eight Mile in Wayne County, Michigan State Police said.

Troopers were called at about 1:45 a.m. Friday to eastbound I-94 for a report of a rollover crash.

State police arrived and found a woman lying in the freeway's right lane. They also found two other wounded people.

According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle moving east on I-94 changed lanes and struck another vehicle traveling in the same direction. The two drivers lost control of their vehicles and traveled up the freeway's embankment then back onto the freeway, police said.

One of the drivers was ejected and her passenger was injured, MSP reported. The second vehicle's driver was also hurt, officials said.

All three people were taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition.

Police closed the freeway until about 4:30 a.m. while they investigated. They are working to determine which driver was at fault.
